Hope raises from the dead.
To "rise" is an intransitive verb. Someone or something can rise. To "raise" is a transitive verb. Someone or something can be raised. This is the week leading up to Easter. And so, a lot of the world (for good reason!) is remembering and celebrating the proximate cause of this holiday. Rising. But what about the effect of it? The rising, or the holiday, or both? The effect is hope. It is hope that raises our spirits, our relationships, and our world from the dead. This week, we get to share hope to a world that desperately needs it. We can bring help in simple ways. And in doing so, we can raise the world around us.
