5 Ways to Make This Week Count

You can't spell momentum without "moment." When we're doing something worthwhile, no matter how meaningful and life-improving, there's an easy phase and a hard phase. The easy phase is in the planning. We get to think about how great it will be to make a change and finally be more like the person we know we were meant to be. Then comes the "moment." It's that interval between the fun part and the harder part where it requires commitment. Here, towards the end of January, we're reaching that moment. Let's keep going! This is the moment where we can build momentum. And the best part is that once we've got momentum on our side, it starts to get easy again. That's when it's really fun. And that's what changes the world. It's people like you who chose well at this moment when we could back off or build momentum.

Actions: The Simple Helps to remember

  • Monday -  Make someone smile today; bonus points for making them laugh.

  • Tuesday -  Use a marker to write an uplifting word/drawing on a rock then put the rock back where you found it to be a random encouragement to someone.

  • Wednesday - Tell a parent, that you see out and about with their kids, that they are doing a good job. - Lauren Pence

  • Thursday - Engage someone with a joke. Don’t know any? Here you go!

  • Friday -  Pat someone on the back or shake their hand today. - Laurie Callihan Coniglione, Ph.D.
